First week of fall session

Esok hari terakhir minggu pertama sesi fall 09. Baru seminggu kelas bukak, dh malas nk bangun pagi, almost terlewat g kelas pon ade. Ditambah pulak dgn duit yg kering lepas beli buku teks yg mahal nk mampos. adeyh~ bulan2 pose, bwk bersabar.

Nih pasal program pon aku x settle lg. Nak amek specialist genetic, but seriously payah gile. Cuak plak nk amek psy201 n psy202. Aku dh siap jumpe psy department dah tanye buleh x amek sta220 instead of psy201 sbb dr previous students, semua ckp psy201 tuh payah!! minah arab yg aku jumpe dlm bus pon ckp assignment psy201 are IMPOSSIBLE! huhu..org psy department ckp bio department x recognise sta220 as equivalent as psy201. aku tanye bio department lak, dia kate specialist genetic tuh under psyc..adeh pening aku... ape2 pon, aku nak sta220!!!

Satu hal lg, psl akaun Maybank. diorg nk terminate account aku sbb x active. abis la duit aku, gile ke ape. hish, pening la aku nk settlekan masalah akaun nih. Dh la mmg xde maybank langsung kat sini. nk jumpe bank yg ade "plus" tuh pon payah. haiz x_x

Macam2 la. Miss the 1 week before start kelas, when the biotech group dh balik sini, housewarming la konon nye. it certainly fun to get together with them again outside class, dlm klas pon sonok. Part masak satay pon best.kehkehkeh. less than an hour nk bukak pose, baru la nk hidupkan bara api. nasib baik hidup jugak.

ok , skrg nk layan lagu smbil tulis surat kat maybank. siap bukak contoh surat kiriman rasmi lagi tuh. hahaha

Updated: Today, Friday, Sept 12 09, i went to MASAT n CMA iftar sponsored by Maple Lodge Farm, Restoran Malaysia, and MATRADE *mcm nk promote la plak*. It was great that I could meet Tsuey (with her long hair, she looks more cute) , Nadiah and the other st george people. And I also got to "observe" the st george juniors. haha. joking2. It certainly a good oppurtunity to meet the juniors. And Alhamdulillah, dapat solat jemaah tarawikh. oo yes, the food was good. I cant wait for Hari raya=p

Last day of the trip

As expected, it rained heavily, accompanied by strong wind, on sunday due to Hurricane Bill. It wasnt bad, Alhamdulillah. No destruction or anything like that.

But due to the bad weather, the main plan for the day was "staying inside"or in another words "sleeping". Again, slept at 6 am, after sahur, woke up at 11.30 am, after yin yee bising that aku tido aje=p We went out to the nearby groceries.

In the evening, tido secara berjemaah. The weather got worse, but that didnt prevent us from having iftar outside=p Me, Irill, Hadi n Izaty redah je angin n ujan renyai2 , headed downtown. We had iftar at a fish n chips restaurant.

Today was cloudy and rained a little. Thank God that it wasn't a hot day, coz we all didnt wake up for sahur. Aku memang malas nk bangun sahur takut terlewat bangun. Nanti yin yee ckp aku byk tido lg=p B4 tido dh teguk satu botol air. The guys pon x bangun. Selalu aku yg kejut, and aku lupe nk bg tau yg aku x nk bangun sahur.

We took cab to Cavendish, where the replica of "anne of green gables' " village is situated. For those who doesn't know "anne of green gables", don't worry, cos i only knew about the novel a few days ago. Yup, it's a novel, written by LM Montgomery, who was born on PEI. Her novel was inspired by her personal life. Anne is her imaginary character. She's really famous here, among the islanders. Anyway, from the cab's driver, we knew that she committed cuicide. She suffered depression. It runs in the family i guess *referring to the depression issue*

After visiting the village, we walked to Ripley's believe it or not. Later, we took cab again to Cow's, where they produced ice cream and the company was awarded by Reader's Digest as the best ice cream in Canada. That's why it's so famous. And they also make Cow's clothhes. At the end of the factory tour, they gave free sample. wuwuwuwu~ Sabar je la tengok org makan ice cream. sobsob.....

In the evening, I got lost in the town. I wanna go to waterfront, been there twice, but I still got lost. I am really bad at remembering directions. Pusing punya pusing, in the end it occured to me that i should take a map in one of the shops. Haish, dekat je nk smpai sane dr hostel. Go straight and turned left. But instead of turned left, i went straight all the way and then turned right, which lead me to downtown. Dari downtown, aku jalan je mane2 yg aku rase betol, and sesat masuk neighbourhood. But in the end, i found my way to waterfront and got back safely.

Today, kitaorg berbuka kat hostel sbb nk habiskan stok mknn. 1 minute b4 wktu berbuka, still depan laptop, sbb dapur penuh dgn mat2 salleh tgh mkn. So, kitaorg minum air and mkn roti kosong skit sorg. Solat Maghrib dulu, baru la g prepare makann berbuka; French fries the night b4, goreng balik, Goreng telur, cmpur mayo yg dicilok dr dlm peti *hope mayo tuh hostel punye*, and pelbagai rempah ratus. Pasta 2 hari yg lalu, panaskan. 5 tin tuna n sardin pelbagai rasa, campur semua n masak. Mee maggi bersama mihun digoreng bersama. fuh, layan~ mmg habis la stok mknn. Sahur kang nk habiskan roti n tuna.

Esk pukul 7 am kene keluar. I'm so excited to go back home!!! yay!

First day of Ramadhan 2009

The first day of fasting, no way I'm gonna miss my first "sahur". Although I didnt get to have sahur with the girls back at home, still, i wanna feel the "Ramadhan mood", and therefore I stayed up all night, waiting to have sahur with the guys; Irill n Hadi.

The most troublesome part; waking the guys *obviously*

Phone dh vibrate byk kali, still xde reaction. haish~

Sementara menunggu, i boiled some water using coffeemaker, and then the water spilled on my hand and I couldn't threw the cup coz then it will spill on my feet and might splash over my netbook. Ouch! sakit sengal!

Finally, I grabbed Rueben's poster and ketuk the 2 guys. Nasib baik bangun. Pheww~~

Tp aku rase aku terkejut awal=p sbb bukan ade bende nk kene prepare pon; a can of tuna, 6 slices of bread , nutella and oreo. I ate one slice with tuna, oreo dipped in hot water. The guys siap amek roti yinyee. haha. Selesai sudah sahur pertama~ Solat Subuh berjemaah and then mian lappy jap b4 tido.

Bangun pukul 10. Terlambat!! nak check out hotel kul 11. Laju gile mandi! Nasib baik dh siap gosok tudung b4 tido. Angkut barang n walked to HI hostel. Hari dh start panas. X boleh check in lg, so we left our stuffs and then headed to the mall, which is small and boring. Then pergi waterfront lagi. On d way, ade show yg citer sejarah2 PEI. It was fun and entertaining walaupon tgh2 panas tuh. They sure are proud to be islanders (cmni ke eje?) This town is full with values. Later, shopping souvenior. Panas beb! Teguk air liur je la tgk lemonade and icecream.

After like 2-3 hours there, kitaorg balik hostel. Plan for the day was to go to the nearest beach. Sementara nk tggu info about where is the nearest beach and book cab etc, aku dh tertido. Penat!

Pukul 5, cab sampai, aku baru bangun, trus rush kuar. Pening kepala aku. adoi~

Smpai kat beach, air surut, and ade mcm seaweeds and PEI is famous for its "red dirt". tanah dia kaler merah, so is its beach. I thinked semua mat salleh kat situ pandang kitaorg sbb diorg semua pakai bikini and kitaorg plak pakai jeans and shorts. haha. Kitaorg x mandi pon. just main2 air and tgkp gmbr.

When we arrived back at hostel, mandi cepat2 and angkut baju g laundry. Satu beg tuh penuh laundry. Haa, angkut laa naik trun bukit. Sabar2, skjp je lg nk berbuka. Berbuka time tgh buat laundry. Tunggu dh siap basuh n masukkan dlm dryer, baru la nk g mkn. On the way, singgah shopping groceries. Takut kedai semua tutup esok sbb hurricane. Memang beli bekalan la~ I bought cinnamon bread. It reminded me of the girls back home in sauga. Teringin lak nk makan cinnamon bread.

Lepas berbuka, pegi amek laundry, then stopped by at tim hortons, grabbed coffee.

Late night activities: pool, dart, guitar, card, songs - all in the garage.

Seronok wooo. Garage dia jd game room. Main pool puas2, free=p

Lepas penat main, duduk kat luar borak2 n tgk gmbr. Then baru tido. Well, not me laa, still waiting for sahur. lagi 20 minutes dh kul 4. Aku tido tepi tgkp, and ramai org lalu lalang. baru balik dr pub kot. This town although small, it has night life. Okay, better get ready to prepare the food. Selamat berpuasa=)

A small town with fun

Perghh, x sangka bangun tepat pada mase nye pagi tadi. Before pukul 6 dah siap makan one slice pizza and we were ready to go.

Destination: Acadian bus station

Penat gile jalan! Naik bukit plak tuh. Dgn bag2 nye. adeyh. almost 30 minutes woo jalan. The guys lak 5 minutes jalan dh smpai. Sbb hostel yg diorg duduk tuh dekat je. Hampeh betol la~

5 hours dlm bus. On d way, byk farms je.

Before smpai Charlettotown, kitaorg lalu satu bridge nih, panjang bangat sih!!!! lawa laut dia.

Dh sampai pon! trun2 bas, ade plak asian store kat sebelah. kaya dr malaysia pon ade, tp kitaorg xde can opener la....then, tggu bus nk g hotel.........beberapa belas minit kemudian, bus x smpai2 jugak. hish. tetibe ade pakcik taxi nih berhenti n bg tau, bus semua tgh break. eeehhh??? ade break plak. nih mmg kampung nih. so no choice, naik taxi. murah je, $2 each.

Smpai kat hotel, the guys kene menyorok, sbb the room only for 4 people. sementara kitaorg check in, diorg merayau2. Irill plak patah balik g stesen bus acadian sbb beg plastik zellers yg berisi makanan2 bersahur tertggl. bagus sgt la tuh~~

Fuh, mmg berbeza dr backpackers *what do u expect. one is a hostel, and one is a 3-stars hotel* ade 2 queen size bed and ruang dia besar. mmg tempat tido guys la ats karpet tuh. haha

Bile irill dh balik, dia ade 1 good news and 1 bad news.

The good news: dia dh jumpe plastik tuh

The bad news: On d way dia nk cari plastik, dia tertinggal hp dia atas rumput. hish dia nih! So, dia kene patah balik. nasib baik ade org jumpe and gave it back.

Lepas kecoh2 hp ilang nih, kitaorg jln2 g downtown. bandr nih mmg kecik so mmg senang la nk jln. x yah naik bus. pastu ari ahad bus mmg bercuti. haiyooo, mmg kampung betol laaa.

Kitaorg jalan g laut. ade kedai ice cream, etc. Lepas jalan2, g dinner. Luckily x kene kick out lg. oh yes, the hotel yg kitaorg duduk nih, for 18 and below, free lorh!! haha, ade gak hotel mcm tuh ye.

After dinner, ade entertainment. light n sound show. i honestly think that this town is better than halifax. At least there's something to do at night and it's not as hot as halifax. Walopn bandar dia kecik and quite old fashion, it's nice and not crowded like halifax.

Again, malam nih main card b4 tido. Esok puase laaa!!! sahur roti n tuna. roti pon tggl 5 keping. blasah je la. X terasa sgt suasana nk puasa tuh. tp at least dpt jugak berjemaah tarawikh td. i miss bazaar ramadhan already!!!

A visit to U of Dalhousie

Puas hati dapat bangun lewat. haha

Hari nih dimulai dgn brunch pizza yg sgt besar. Pastuh naik bus free around downtown, and stop kat public garden. Memang tempt yg sesuai untuk berposing2. Banyak bunga and ade lake plus fountain. Hari panas gile! *xmo la burn, wuwuwuwu~* So, kitaorg bersantai2 atas rumput smbil memikirkan jalan nk ke University of Dalhousie. and also plan time kat PEI, sbb maybe ade hurricane on sunday or monday. kitaorg dh la xde tempt bermlm for monday. aiseyh~ so, we decided that we should book hotel 1 malam for monday. so, kalau hurricane monday, leh la lepak je kat hotel/hostel.

We made it to U of Dalhousie without much trouble sbb hadi dh kaji peta2 yg di collect sbgai kenangan. *suke sgt peta plak* Besar jugak uni nih, bangunan bersepah2. Kat depan university centre tuh ade gerai, and i mean GERAI, like malaysian style! dia jual hamburger for $1, HALAL hamburger! Irill bersembang2 dgn mamat muslim tuh, and dia kate dia dpt 2 baju melayu dr malaysian friends and skrg dia nk cari smping kaler kuning. ntah ape lg la irill borak dgn mamat tuh.

Then, kitaorg naik bus g mall. For the second time, we crossed the long bridge again. Jammed la plak sbb ade tol. Jauh jugak la dia nye mall tuh dr downtown. tersengguk2 aku. Nothing special about the mall though. quite big.

Lepas g mall, balik la. xleh lepak lame2 sbb nk gune transfer ticket tuh=p Lepas berbincang kat mall, we decided that we should go to PEI tomorrow pg instead of sabtu pagi sbb dh x tau nk buat ape kat halifax and dpt jln kat PEI in case ari ahad/ isnin x dpt jln. Masalahnye, ticket bus x bli lg, and ade 2 bus je, 7 pg and 4 ptg. klu amek kul 4, travel time jd 7 hours dr 5 hours. klu nak pegi pagi, kene bagi tau org yg jage backpackers nih yg kitaorg nk keluar pg2. Plus, kene book hotel 1 mlm kat PEI. so, sejurus smpai kat hostel, kitaorg buat la research.

Settle! we r heading to PEI tomorrow morning at 7.30 am. Meaning esok kene bangun kul 5 pg and get out by 6. hoho. lepas mandi2, main card dlu b4 kemas bag. n now, it's time to sleep. =)

Amazing whale watching!

The highlight of today is "whale watching". Yup, we saw REAL whales, surfing for air. Let's start from the morning shall we?

I planned to wake up at 8 am *that's early man!* I slept at 4 am according to Toronto's time but 5 am here. i woke up, hari dh cerah, "apsal ley ying and yinyee x bagun lg? dh lewat nih" i thought to myself and I reached for my ipod. "7.28 am, still early, no wonder". i continued my sleep, without realising that my ipod was showing me Toronto's time. It was actually 8.28 am and I should be having my bath at that moment. I woke up at 9 am=p (local time)

We walked to downtown, leaving the scarry serial killer-like neighbourhood. Much better~

We were at the top of a hill, and we could see the sea! Since it's a hill/mountain (geographically), the buildings are not at the same level. Pusing2 downtown, minum tim hortins *damn hot!*, singgah sebentar minum buble tea. Then, we went down the hill to the harbour *halifax kan pelabuhan maritim*. The view wasn't as great as the lake dekat killbear, sbb nmpk byk kapal2 besar, but for sure it's not something that u'll see in toronto.

We went to "whale watching" , for only 20 bucks. Nampak whale byk kali, and ade yg dekat dgn boat. Naik bot 2 jam, sejuk but definitely enjoyable and relaxing. Malas la nk describe whale tuh. ok next!

later, we went to this seafood restaurant where we were asked, okay, actually i was just me, I was asked to leave sbb x ckup umur...aiseyh~ sorry guys, x pasal2 kene cari tmpt makan lain. But we did find another seafood restaurant nearby, and I believed we enjoyed our dinner. Makan lobster~~=D

Lepas mkn, walked back to the abandoned area *balik hostel la makne nye tuh*

Good news!, laki tuh dh xde, tukar dgn sorg pompuan. lege!

Mandi, and then we discus for the rest of the week plans. complicated betul, and in the end, we stick to the original plan, which means, we'll have to sleep at bus station twice. *whatever, baru adventurous right?* main daun terup before tido. dapat tido awal mlm nih, sbb td balik awal dr downtown, but it's now 3.41 (local time), and i'm still awake. tp xpe, esok buleh bangun lambat=p
